Celebrating Dr Virgona and 32 years of clinical care to genU residents
Yesterday, genU hosted a celebratory morning tea to recognise Dr Joseph Virgona’s enormous contribution to genU residential participants. Since 1990, the local General Practitioner has delivered thousands of hours of clinical care to promote good health for genU disability and aged care residents.
“Dr Virgona’s involvement with genU has made him part of the family,” genU Executive General Manager, Residential and Individual Supports, Natasha Williams said.
‘He goes above and beyond in the clinical care of residents, allowing people with disability to manage their health in the same way that people without disability do.
“We’re incredibly fortunate to have had his health care services for 32 years and today was an opportunity to thank him for his unwavering support.”
Held at Geelong’s Eastern Hub, around 50 people came together to recognise Dr Virgona’s contribution including Karingal House residents, parents and friends of genU and members of the genU Executive team. The celebration also marked Dr Virgona’s milestone 70th birthday.
