Entries are being taken for the 2018 Geelong Awards for People with a Disability.
Nominations close at 5pm on Tuesday December 5.
To be eligible to receive an award, nominees are required to be a City of Greater Geelong resident with a disability.
Nominations are invited from anyone wanting to recognise a person with a disability for their efforts and achievements in the three categories.
Recognises someone who has achieved a significant milestone or success in any area.
Leadership and Advocacy:
Recognises someone who has led or advocated for others to achieve a considerable outcome or advancement.
Recognises someone who has achieved success or made a substantial contribution to empowering and developing other in the workplace or community.
genU CEO Mike McKinstry said the awards celebrated the amazing contribution people with a disability make to the Geelong region.
“There are many inspiring stories and achievements from the people of Geelong and we want to hear about them. They deserve to be recognised by the community,” Mr McKinstry said.
You can nominate yourself for an award or another person who you know is eligible. Please ensure that the nominee has agreed to be nominated before submitting the nomination. Participants of partnering organisations are eligible for nomination.
Youth award nominees must be under 18 years of age as at December 5.
