genU CEO Mike McKinstry has tendered his resignation to the genU Board and will conclude his services with the organisation at the end of February 2020.

genU Board Chair Stephen Roberts said the Board was extremely grateful for Mike’s leadership during his five years with genU.

“Mike departs genU having guided us through a highly successful merger that now delivers a significantly expanded presence, breadth of services and most importantly, a positive impact in the many communities we serve,” Mr Roberts said.

“genU has been able to build both an exemplary reputation for service quality, and a strong foundation for future success and we acknowledge and thank Mike for his role in leading a great genU team, while assisting the Board to develop an exciting vision and wonderful values that will guide our ‘genU way’.”

Mr McKinstry was appointed Karingal CEO in July 2015 before becoming genU CEO in 2017, following the merger of Karingal and St Laurence Community Services, and rebranding to genU.

“After five years, I feel it’s time for a fresh start, and I’m now planning to move on from genU and look for the next challenge in life,” Mr McKinstry said.

“I look forward to seeing genU continue to grow from strength to strength in the future, as it continues to help to change so many lives and provide high quality supports to all of its clients and families,” he said.

“We leave a very strong legacy for the future, and I’m so humbly proud of all that we have delivered together.”

The Board will turn its attention to working through a comprehensive and expansive recruitment strategy for genU’s next CEO and will provide further updates in due course.
