At genU, we have services to assist you or people you care about to maintain independence, health and community participation – while living in the comfort and familiarity of your own home.
genU has an experienced team of expert case managers and care coordinators who will work with you to ensure you are supported to live at home and get the best value from your Home Care Package.
A Home Care Package (HCP) is an Australian government subsidy provided to eligible over 65s to help you live at home as long as you want. There are four levels of HCPs, from Level 1 (basic care) through to Level 4 (high care needs).

GETTING STARTED WITH A HOME CARE PACKAGE
If you are new to Home Care Packages, first, you need to be assessed by the Australian Government to determine your package level.
You must be over 65 to be eligible for funding.
STEPS TO FOLLOW:
- Register with My Aged Care or contact genU home care packages on 1300 558 368 for further information and assistance to apply for a package.
- Prepare for your assessment. During your assessment, you will be asked about what you can still do for yourself and what you require assistance with. It helps if you have already made notes about what your needs are, and the help that you may need in the foreseeable future.
- The ACAS (Aged Care Assessment Services) will come to your home and assess your eligibility for a Home Care Package.
- Once you receive a letter from My Aged Care stating that you have been allocated a Home Care Package, please call genU customer service on 1300 558 368. You will be allocated a genU Case Manager who will meet with you and explain what genU can offer.
(Note: The allocation of a Home Care Package process can take from 6-12 months.)
