Social support for those who are 65+
For older people living in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula community, our social support volunteer program Staying Connected matches and coordinates volunteers who provide you with one-to-one social support, regular contact and companionship.
It’s all about getting out there, to be a better you, so our volunteers may provide home visiting, social outings or social support activities, and of course, a little fun, laughter and companionship along the way!
Support available from 1-3 hours per week.
Social support groups
Social support groups are available in the Greater Geelong, Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula communities to provide an opportunity for participants who live alone to attend and engage in social interactions away from home.
The structured activities are provided in a group-based environment and are designed to develop, maintain and support social interaction and independent living. Activities available include, winery tours, food & dining experiences, bush and nature walks, theatre and musicals, cooking classes and much more,
Our group-based activities and excursions promote physical activity, cognitive stimulation and emotional wellbeing.
