genU, a not-for-profit organisation, has launched civil legal action against parties suspected of defrauding the organisation.
In March 2023, genU reported the suspected fraud to Victoria Police.
genU undertook a review of all purchasing internal controls, systems and governance to ensure that any weaknesses in systems, policies and procedures were identified and addressed to minimise future risk.
We want to assure genU clients and their families in the strongest terms that our services, supports and programs, were not compromised by the alleged fraud and continued as normal with no impact on our clients or service delivery.
This has not and will not impact our day-to-day service delivery or the way we conduct our business.
We have incredible employees across Australia who continue to provide high-quality services and demonstrate unwavering commitment to our clients, their families and carers, and to our purpose to enrich the lives of others.
Taking legal action to hold the responsible people to account and seeking to recoup all money is important to genU so the money can be used for its intended purpose: building genuinely inclusive communities.
At genU, we are proud of the incredible work we do every day to enrich the lives of others, we have strong values, and we take our code of conduct and policy compliance seriously.
