Inclusion Programs

genU Inclusion programs empower businesses and communities to champion diversity, creating real change through meaningful partnerships.

Partner with us to build more inclusive communities

At genU, we know that building a more inclusive community is key in empowering people to reach their full potential.

Our genU Inclusion programs bring businesses and community groups together to champion diversity and create real change.

Since 2003, we’ve partnered with more than 300 businesses and 500 community organisations to help them extend the boundaries of how they think about and take responsibility for promoting inclusion in their own communities.

If inclusion or accessibility is something you're passionate about but haven't known where to start, partner with genU and we’ll help you take your business’ values and corporate social responsibility goals from an idea into a rewarding experience that creates real change.

Let's work together

Align your brand with purpose. As a national organisation with services and supports that cater to all stages of life, we also have incredible brand awareness and alignment opportunities to target a range of audiences through sponsorship and partnership deals.

Whether you're after brand awareness, to drive sales, increase community participation, or more, we have a wide audience of clients, partners and channels that can help you drive your message.

From promoting your business in our networks on the ground, or delivering wide-ranging brand exposure to engaged audiences, genU can work with you to reach your target audience.

A few great examples of this include:

  • When Cadbury generously sponsored our inaugural Big Day Out for more than 100 people with disability in Tasmania to enjoy.
  • Ford Australia partners with genU for our supported employees to staff their onsite cafes
  • The Chevron City to Surf for Activ event in Perth which attracts more than 25,000 people each year. Check it out here perthcitytosurf.com.au

Let's chat to see how we can work together to make a difference.

Bring your business’s corporate responsibility goals to life in a unique way that inspires, educates and energises your team.

genU Inclusion's members have access to a range of unique and rewarding corporate volunteering options. Through direct involvement and support of inclusive initiatives, programs and events, your team can come together and connect in fun and meaningful ways.

Corporate volunteering creates a three‑way impact: it enriches employees, strengthens the organisations they work for, and delivers meaningful social connection and inclusion for people with disability.

1. Benefits for Volunteers (Employees)

Corporate volunteering gives employees the chance to step outside their usual routines and contribute in a way that feels personal and human. Key benefits include:

  • Increased empathy and understanding — Spending time with people with disability helps volunteers build deeper awareness of lived experience, accessibility needs, and the value of inclusion.
  • Personal fulfilment and wellbeing — Helping others boosts morale, reduces stress, and gives employees a sense of purpose that carries back into their work.
  • Skill development — Volunteers strengthen communication, adaptability, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills in real‑world settings.
  • Connection and belonging — Shared volunteering experiences help colleagues bond and create a stronger sense of community within the workplace.

2. Benefits for Organisations

Companies that support volunteering see measurable cultural and strategic advantages:

  • Stronger workplace culture — Volunteering programs reinforce values like compassion, responsibility, and collaboration.
  • Improved employee engagement and retention — Staff who feel their organisation supports meaningful community involvement are more loyal and motivated.
  • Enhanced brand reputation — Demonstrating commitment to disability inclusion and social impact strengthens public trust and corporate identity.
  • Better understanding of accessibility and inclusion — Direct exposure to disability communities helps organisations design more inclusive products, services, and workplaces.

3. Benefits for People with Disability

For genU clients, corporate volunteering is not just an activity — it’s an opportunity for connection, visibility, and empowerment.

  • Social inclusion — Volunteers help reduce isolation by offering companionship, conversation, and shared experiences.
  • Expanded networks — Clients meet new people, build confidence, and engage with the broader community.
  • New opportunities and experiences — Activities supported by volunteers can introduce clients to hobbies, skills, or environments they may not otherwise access.
  • Recognition and respect — Volunteers who show up with openness and curiosity help reinforce the message that people with disability are valued members of the community.

Corporate volunteering creates a ripple effect: employees grow, organisations strengthen their culture and social impact, and people with disability experience greater inclusion and connection.   When businesses and community organisations partner in this way, they build a more compassionate, accessible, and equitable society.

So why not join us?

  • Be part of genU Inclusion events such as the Workplace Big Day Out, the Big Night Out, Corporate Golf Day and the artX Exhibition series.
  • Support the Chevron City to Surf as a volunteer:  BECOME A VOLUNTEER – Chevron City to Surf for genU
  • Visit and support genU’s Participate programs created for people with disability. This includes genU Adventure, which uses sport and recreation activities to support people with disability to try new things and reach new goals in a fun and friendly group-based setting. It is a popular option with 100% positive feedback from teams spending the day abseiling, canoeing, surfing and more with genU clients.

We charge a fee for corporate volunteering because delivering a safe, meaningful, and well‑supported experience requires real resources.  Our staff plan activities, prepare materials, coordinate schedules, and provide on‑site support to ensure volunteers and clients can engage safely and enjoyably. Your contribution also helps cover transport, equipment, accessibility needs, and the additional time required from support workers to facilitate the day.   By sharing these costs, we can ensure that volunteering remains sustainable, high‑quality, and genuinely beneficial for our clients who participate.

A valuable benefit of your membership is exclusive invitations to networking events alongside industry experts, partners and national contacts.

Our regular breakfast events not only provide you with an opportunity to network with like-minded people from organisations who share your passion for the local community, but you’ll also hear from inspiring individuals making a difference in our region.

Our community-based business really brings the old adage of 'it's who you know' to life, with some of our greatest connections internally and externally stemming from a casual chat.

When your organisation becomes a genU Inclusion Member, you’ll open the door to a network of like-minded businesses who celebrate and promote diversity.

As well as supporting genU’s work to empower people to reach their potential, an annual membership gives you access to unique opportunities that help you build great teams, build inclusivity and build your business.

Barwon Heads Golf Day

We are pleased to announce that the 2025 genU Barwon Heads Charity Golf Day raised $17,500

All funds raised will directly support the genU GAMER Program, which fosters social connection, confidence, and skill development through shared interests in gaming, role play, and pop culture. This program is a testament to our commitment to empowering people with disability.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our major partner, BBC Digital, for making the day possible.

To all the golfers, local businesses and friends who donated their time and products to this event – thank you!
