GenU delivering trusted nationwide Federal Government program to support jobseekers with disability and disability employment sector
Leading community service provider genU is delivering vital workplace and employment information and expert advice for people with disability, employers and service providers, under a major Federal Government program.
genU was successfully contracted to deliver the National JobAccess Service on behalf of the Department of Social Services. Service delivery of the JobAccess Service began on 1 January 2025, for a two-year term.
CEO Clare Amies congratulated the genU team responsible for winning the contract for their efforts in delivering the JobAccess service.,
Ms Amies said the contract was strong confirmation of the Federal Government’s faith in genU’s expertise and commitment to service excellence, and an acknowledgement of genU’s extensive national footprint which continues to deepen.
“genU shone in a field of quality providers, so this was a huge accomplishment and recognition for the innovative and professional work genU has done nationally as a disability employment service for almost 27 years,” Ms Amies said.
“This JobAccess partnership reflects a shared commitment to inclusive employment across Australia and also aligns with our vision for genuinely inclusive communities.”
JobAccess is the trusted national hub for workplace and employment information for people with disability, employers and service providers. genU is delivering a range of services including:
- An accessible online and telephone advice service around disability employment and government employment programs.
- Promoting employment of people with disability.
- Increasing knowledge and awareness of the JobAccess Services.
- Providing National Disability Recruitment Coordinators disability awareness training.
- Runing disability recruitment drives.
- Liaising with Disability Employment Services providers.
- Undertaking employer and industry seminars and webinars to promote JobAccess.
- Collaborating and participate in whole-of-sector sharing of best practice and industry insights.
JobAccess National Manager Georgia Miller said genU was deeply committed to helping people with disability gain meaningful employment and has the experience and understanding to guide people in the right direction to reach their employment goals.
“We have the expertise to answer everyone’s questions about JobAccess,” Ms Miller said.
“The effective community and industry partnerships we established over a number of years helped us hit the ground running on 1 January and have played a role in positive outcomes so far.”
Ms Miller said partnering with the newly established Centre of Inclusive Employment would create synergies to support organisations and providers delivering services, including Inclusive Employment Australia, Workforce Australia, the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Supported Employment services.
