Hobart staff settle into new Rosny Park office

Our Hobart team is settling into a brand-new space, with genU’s new office now open at Rosny Park on the eastern side of the Derwent River. Perfectly positioned between the Eastlands Shopping Centre and Waverley Flora Park, the new site offers a more accessible, modern and collaborative environment for both our clients and staff.

Accessibility was front of mind in the design of the new office. Located all on one level, it provides easier access for everyone - a significant improvement from the previous multi-floor location.

Talent Acquisition Officer, Ryan Lange said the change has been a game-changer for both staff and the people genU supports.

"The new office space is so much more accessible for our clients to pop in and see us,” Ryan shared. “If they want to meet with someone from our team, they no longer need to worry about stairs or waiting for a downstairs room to be available. It’s a much truer and better representation of a community services organisation."

With a fresh, modern design, the new office features meeting rooms and inclusive co-working spaces that cater to different working styles. Several rooms have been fitted out with multiple workstations, creating spaces where teamwork and collaboration can happen naturally.

Ryan praised the positive effect the new layout is already having.

“While being a team that prides itself on our inclusivity and teamwork, it’s made everything more efficient as we no longer navigate staff across different areas. Having everyone together in one place has made it easier to connect with colleagues, solve problems quickly and collaborate more effectively."

To help staff feel at home, the team was welcomed on their first day with a small treat and a personal welcome message on their desks. A ‘Welcoming Morning Tea’ was also held to bring staff and clients together, creating a relaxed and friendly environment to settle into the new space.

The location itself has also been a hit, with the Eastlands Shopping Centre just a stone’s throw away.

“Personally, I love that the office is so close to a shopping centre,” Ryan said. “It makes it so easy to pop out if you've forgotten your lunch or need to run a quick errand."

The move to Rosny Park marks an exciting new chapter for genU in Tasmania - one that's more accessible and built with community in mind.
