Leadership update: Clare Amies to step down as genU CEO

After five years of leading genU, Chief Executive Officer Clare Amies has today announced her decision to step down from her role.

Since joining genU, Clare has led the organisation through a period of significant transformation with compassion, clarity and a deep commitment to our purpose. Her leadership has strengthened genU’s financial sustainability, enhanced governance, and ensured the organisation is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the people we serve.

genU Board Chair Ingrid Williams said: “Clare has been a steady and inspiring force for genU. We are immensely grateful for her leadership and vision during a time of significant complexity. She leaves genU in a strong and stable position, with a united Executive Team and a clear strategic direction.”

Clare has kindly agreed to remain in her role until a successor has been appointed, working closely with the Board and Executive Team to ensure a smooth and well-managed transition. The recruitment process for a new CEO is now underway.

Importantly, there will be no changes to services or supports for clients. genU’s Executive Team continues to lead with purpose and confidence, and our focus remains firmly on the future—delivering on our strategic goals and continuing to make a positive impact to the lives of the people we serve.

We will be taking time later in the year to acknowledge and celebrate Clare’s contribution.

Thank you for your continued support.
