Why genU?

genU serves a wide range of people. We have been supporting people with disability for almost 70 years, and we’ve grown our supports to include older Australians, job seekers, employers, pre-school early learners and students.

So if you’re driven by a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives in a dynamic environment which thrives on innovation, then genU is the place to start.
We are on the look-out for motivated, values-driven, and adaptable candidates who are passionate about making an impact through a career with a profit for purpose organisation.

genU’s two-year Graduate Program includes:

  • Targeted streams for graduates to thrive within their field of study.
  • Exposure to a range of people and functions through four rotations within your stream.
  • Opportunities to lead projects with real deliverables.
  • One-on-one mentoring with expert leaders.
  • Supervision and peer support.
  • Formal training and development workshops.
  • Insight into the client experience at genU.
  • Career development opportunities.

Graduate Program streams

genU’s Graduate Program offers streams tailored to your university degree and career pathway. Graduates will rotate through four departments or subject matter areas within their stream over two years.

Graduates can only apply for one stream, so make sure it aligns with your field of study.
In 2022, genU is offering four streams:

  • People and Culture
  • Learner Experience and Design
  • Marketing, Client Experience and Strategy
  • Occupational Therapy

Client experience at the heart of what we do

genU exists to serve all ambitions great and small, with client experience at the heart of everything we set out to achieve.

Graduates will take on a key project relating to the client experience at genU. This collaborative project will analyse a real problem at genU, and look at ways of addressing the problem to enhance client experience and wellbeing.

The program features four client experience days, which will provide opportunities to learn from our clients, and build learnings into the key project. Graduates will meet clients across many operational areas of genU in order to provide a greater understanding of the client experience.

Diversity and Inclusion at genU

At genU, we’re not all the same, and that’s one of our greatest strengths. We draw on the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced, and how we think. Because to live our values and to succeed in our vision, we must all be active in building inclusive communities.

The rich diversity of our organisation allows us to bring together many different ideas, journeys and lived experiences to enhance the environment, culture and services we provide – for employees, volunteers, students, clients and the very communities in which we operate.

genU is wholly committed to embracing and celebrating the many dimensions and intersections of diversity, as well as committed to creating environments where individuals are empowered to be the best they can be. We will provide you with an equitable experience when applying for the graduate program.

We also offer support for people who may need adjustments throughout the application process and over their career journey.

Our graduates will also benefit from:

  • Access to workplace adjustments.
  • Mentors with lived experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements.

genU is committed to providing an accessible, safe and inclusive workplace. Please contact recruitment@genu.org.au if you require any reasonable adjustments or supports during the recruitment process.
